Advanced Materials for Innovative Structures Laboratory (AMIS Lab)

Our primary research interest includes the development of sustainable structural systems using advanced materials and corresponding analysis. Extensive experimental and computational efforts have been made to study the behavior of structural members subjected to physical or environmental loads. Our research bridges between fundamental scientific knowledge and practical engineering applications. Specific goal of our research is to understand complex structural responses and material characteristics, resulting in  globally acceptable predictive models.

Dr. Jimmy Kim, P.Eng.

Dr. Kim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at University of Colorado Denver, Denver, CO, USA. His current research encompasses structural rehabilitation using advanced composite materials such as carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), performance evaluation of constructed facilities, bridge engineering, concrete structures,  science-based structural engineering, and intelligent structural systems.
